West Lodge, Downing College

CPS Building services carried out the mechanical element of the West Lodge refurbishment project inclusive of a new Air Conditioning system, new radiators, BMS Controls and a bathroom installation. The ground floor cooling system is fed from 2 Air Handling Units in the basement which are ducted to floor grilles supplying cool air to the room and extracting warm air from the room. The first floor is cooled by 2 units per room mounted above a raft ceiling providing cool air to the rooms overcoming the previous problem of this building overheating. New column radiators have been installed in keeping with the finish of a listed building. A new BMS system has also been installed controlling the heating and Air Conditioning systems, this system has also been linked to the college's head-end system so they can remotely control/monitor.
