Downing College – Battcock Lodge

CPS Building Services carried out the installation of a comfort cooling system supplying the 3rd floor of Battcock Lodge.

Due to the building being occupied this had to be carefully planned and coordinated with our client Downing College to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.

We installed 3 external condenser units on the parapet roof, supplying 17 indoor units, 1 for each bedroom and 1 for the communal kitchen. Each fan coil unit is ducted to the room complete with supply and extract fire-rated grilles installed in the ceiling moving cool air through the room, each unit is complete with local controllers but also linked to the college BMS system for remote control.

As part of the installation, we installed a grab rail system on the parapet roof and walkways in the roof space for future maintenance.
