Combined Facility Downing Site

CPS Building Services carried out the installation of a new chiller plant to the Combined Facility building at  Downing site Cambridge.

Our works consisted of installing a temporary chiller plant and pump sets in a compound located in the car park, temporary pipework was then connected to the existing system. The plant had to be kept operational  24 hrs a day 7 days a week, once the temporary plant was commissioned and set to work the old chiller units were de-gassed and craned from the roof. New chiller units were then installed in the location of the originals. New trace heated ABS F & R pipework was installed in the plant room, with new primary and secondary pumps installed and connected to new headers before connecting into the existing system.  The complete system is controlled via the new BMS Control Panel located in the plant room.
