RAF Lakenheath, AST Replacement
The project was to undertake the replacement of various AST fuel tanks (above-ground storage tanks) which had fallen well below a minimal standard and posed environmental risks. The project did not commence in till late August and with the heating season fast approaching this was a time-critical project. The project comprised of the installation of multiple new steel oil storage tanks 6000L-10,000L and installed as per current fuel base standards which included, Removal of old oil source Construction of a new concrete base All trenching for oil pipe work Fully pumped system at 1bar Pipe in pipe fuel supply providing leak detection Complete system interfaced with base wide BMS system for monitoring of faults and alarms To ensure the tight program was delivered on time CPS undertook all of the activates and gave the client team a single point of contact, this involved close working with many different sub-contractors from our supply chain.
