CPS has grown rapidly in recent years: in 2019 alone, our staff increased by more than 50% – and we are always looking to recruit the best talent in the industry to partner with us. One of the ways we do that is by focusing on people. We love to see our Employee’s progress, so we have a company-wide emphasis on training, and on supporting and promoting our own people wherever possible.


While the wider industry continues to suffer from a severe skills shortage, we are also investing heavily in Apprentices. The CPS Apprenticeship scheme has a track record in nurturing and promoting talented new people, with a carefully tailored programme and dedicated mentors to support Trainees as they learn. Austen Diaper our Senior Projects Manager and Christy Brookes one of our Mechanical Project Managers both started at CPS as Apprentices.  Since 2012, CPS has employed over 35 Apprentices.


We’re delighted that our reputation as a great place to work is being recognised outside CPS. In 2018, we were shortlisted for the Employer of the Year award at the prestigious Cambridge News Business Excellence Awards. We were also named Employer of the Year by Cambridge Regional College in 2016.
